The $2,000 per person fundraiser Bill Clinton is hosting today for Arizona gubernatorial candidate Fred DuVal is being held at an exclusive private hangar at the Scottsdale Airpark.

The afternoon fundraiser is being held at Scottsdale Hangar One, a private event venue and private hangar next to the Scottsdale Airport.

The hangar is owned by Bennett Dorrance, according to Arizona Corporation Commission records and an official at the swank Scottsdale venue.

Dorrance is Campbell Soup heir and principal with DMB Associates Inc. real estate development firm.

Dorrance is one of the richest persons in Arizona, according to Forbes magazine

DuVal was an aide to Clinton during his two terms in the White House.

DuVal, a Democrat, is taking on Republican Doug Ducey in the race to succeed term-limited Gov. Jan Brewer.

Polls have shown the general election race tied. Democrats hope younger voters and registered Independents frustrated with Arizona’s image as anti-immigrant and intolerant will buoy DuVal’s chances in traditionally conservative state.

Ducey — the State Treasurer and former Cold Stone Creamery CEO — is picking up business backing in the governor’s race.

The Arizona Chapter of the Associated General Contractors announced today it was backing Ducey.

Business groups generall support Republicans because of the GOP’s stance on regulations and taxes as well as backing of right-to-work and at-will employment rules.
