Scottsdale students named in National Merit Scholar Program

More than 60 students in the Scottsdale area were named semifinalists in the National Merit Scholar Program this month.

Semifinalists were chosen from students who took the 2013 Preliminary National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. There were 289 semifinalists statewide.

Students from Scottsdale-area schools are:

Basis Scottsdale: Sejal Aggarwal, Daria Bazzi, Darya Bor, Monica Brundage, Hyeji Cho, Navya Dasari, Kaitlyn Dietlin, Zachary Ginsberg, Anvita Gupta, Shrey Gupta, Angela Hemesath, Ali Khan, Emma Lavelle, Pranav Suresh, Nichole Tai, Christopher Varanese and Lauren Varanese.

Cactus Shadows High School: Jeri Glicksman and Samuel Slack.
