Scottsdale snags share of Super Bowl XLIX events

Scottsdale will capitalize on next year’s Super Bowl with a bevy of special events expected to draw more than a million people, event organizers announced this week.

ESPN once again chose downtown Scottsdale for its live broadcast the week leading up to Super Bowl XLIX on Feb. 1, 2015, at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale.

Coinciding with the broadcast will be Fan Fest Scottsdale, a free celebration for the public with entertainment, food and fashion shows at an outdoor site just north of Scottsdale Fashion Square. ESPN will broadcast there daily from Jan. 26 to Feb. 1.

“Our goal is always to show off the area,” said Seth Markman, a senior coordinating producer who oversees NFL studio shows for ESPN.
