A new live-work-shop development is proposed on the north end of the Scottsdale Airpark at Bell Road and Loop 101.

Bahia Live Work Play, proposed by Catclar Investments, was designed as an integrated mixed-use development by Scottsdale-based HS International.

The 203,000-square-foot project is starting its permit review process with the Scottsdale Planning and Zoning Commission. The development is part of what Scottsdale’s Economic Development Department hopes to see as a new trend in the airpark area. Putting live-work-shop integrated developments in the area decreases inbound commute traffic and adds to a full-day lifestyle.

Bahia has 9,400 square feet of retail and dining space at the corner of 92nd Street and Bell Road, just off the Loop 101-Bell Road interchange. An additional 11 buildings with residential units also are planned, with 10 units slated to be condominiums while 64 units are proposed as townhouses.

The residential buildings clock in up to 64 feet tall with office space on the ground level of the townhouses and loft-style residences above the workspace. The units feature rooftop gardens and patios with balconies on upper levels. Parking is proposed below ground and within townhouse garages.

The office-retail hub on the corner also includes 14 live-work units.

A hearing date for the proposed project is not yet scheduled.
