Did he think he was Santa?

Firefighters had to rescue a 13-year-old boy after he locked himself out of his Scottsdale, Ariz., home — and tried to gain entry via the chimney.

The teen tied an extension cord to a vent and tried to rappel his way down through the narrow gap at around 7 p.m. Tuesday night, reports AZ Family.

But the seventh-grader soon got stuck inside a flue area.

Luckily, he had his cellphone in his pocket — so was able to dial 911 for help.

“Um I’m stuck down a chimney,” he’s heard saying in the call. “I tried to climb out, but I can’t get out,” he tearfully added.

Crews arrived on the scene and gave the youngster a mask and goggles so he’d be protected from dust and debris during by the rescue attempt.

They then smashed open the inside fireplace to get him out.

He was set free after more than an hour and, despite being in shock, was said to be “unscathed” by the incident.

The boy has not been named, but his sister, Rachel Hollis, said he’d actually called her after getting home and finding the house was locked because his mom and grandma were at work.

She said she’d urged him to wait for her to return.

But when she called him back 30 minutes later, “he was already in the chimney, so I told him to call 911,” she told AZ Family.
