Natural Grocers slates Scottsdale store opening date

Natural Grocers will open its first Phoenix store Aug. 11.

The new store will be at 13802 N. Scottsdale Road. As part of its grand opening, the first 100 customers will receive a gift card up to $100.

Natural Grocers already operates four Arizona stores in Sedona, Tucson, Flagstaff and Prescott. The Scottsdale store will mark the Colorado-based family-run chain’s 100th store.

The chain enters a highly competitive Arizona grocery market, which is home to another well-known natural/organic grocer, Sprouts Farmers Market (Nasdaq: SFM). Phoenix also is dotted with Fry’s Food Stores, Safeway locations and a number of other national chains as well as Chandler-based Bashas’.
